John C. Carter,
President
CAREER HISTORY:
Since joining the pharmaceutical industry in 1983, John Carter has held key positions with increasing responsibilities in the field of drug product development. He has personally developed many products for Novopharm, as well as product line extensions for Sandoz and Marion Merrell Dow.
Mr. Carter has managed teams responsible for the planning and execution
of many product development projects through the stages of: small-scale development
trials, scale-up, registration, and validation. Examples include generic
versions of Zantac™, Aleve™, Altace™, Nuprin™, and
Tagamet™.
As Director of Pharmaceutical Development for Novopharm, Mr. Carter has been
responsible for the direct activities of Pharmaceutical Development Staff
consisting of: Formulation Development, Process Development & Optimization,
Clinical Packaging, and Documentation. Mr. Carter also played a key role
in providing input for the Regulatory Submission Process involving U.S.,
Canadian, and European Regulatory Agencies. In his role as Manager
of Technical Services for Novopharm, Mr. Carter was responsible for trouble
shooting and resolving formulation and/or manufacturing problems.
Since starting Carter Pharmaceutical Consulting Inc. in 2001, Mr. Carter has been involved in the development of new drug products, and in the troubleshooting and resolution of manufacturing problems for many Pharmaceutical companies. Clients include branded, generic, biotech, and contract focused businesses in both Canada and the United States.
Mr. Carter's experience in the pharmaceutical industry allows him to provide his clients with a technically sound yet time-conscious approach to servicing their technical needs, and he is fully aware of the importance of bringing each project to a cost efficient completion.
